Physician Associate

Melissa Katigbak, MPA, PA-C is a nationally board-certified and California licensed physician associate specializing in general urology.

Melissa is an avid believer that providing access to healthcare requires active participation in the community. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, San Diego where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry/Cell Biology. During her time in San Diego, Melissa took an active role in the community as one of the co-founders of Kaibigang Pilipino’s Community Outreach to Realize Empowerment, an organization that provides services to under-resourced high schools. Her sense of community importance carried on with her as she pursued her Master of Physician Assistant degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School where she participated in organizations that provided everyday essentials and ensured the needs of the senior community were met in the Norfolk community. After obtaining her master’s degree, Melissa aspired to work in a field where she felt she was most needed.

“Urology is often an overlooked field to the everyday person and issues involving the genitourinary tract is a not something that is talked about until it becomes a problem. At that point, these issues have such a profound effect on people’s quality of life and I understand that it’s not always easy to talk about. My goal is to allow patients to speak about their concerns without apprehension. I enjoy explaining urological conditions and creating treatment plans with my patients to help manage and improve their quality of life”

In Melissa’s spare time, she enjoys long hikes, exploring different museums and parks, and entertaining her 9 nieces and nephews.
